Keeping your pearly whites nice and white can be an uncomfortable process for those of us with sensitive teeth. I’ve been looking for a gentle, natural teeth whitener for a while, and in the end decided to just make one at home. This recipe combines baking soda (which we all know does wonders for eliminating odors and gently whitening and brightening surfaces), 3% hydrogen peroxide (and old-school, all-natural mouthwash), and peppermint essential oil (for that extra minty fresh kick).
I found this natural teeth whitener recipe to be incredibly gentle, got my mouth feeling squeaky clean, and definitely made my teeth whiter and brighter after using it for a month.
Try it out for yourself and I promise you won’t be disappointed! Ingredients 1 tablespoon baking soda (aluminum-free preferred) 1.5 tablespoons 3% hydrogen peroxide (make sure it’s food grade) 5 drops peppermint essential oil Mix all three ingredients together into a thick paste and place a small pea-sized amount onto your toothbrush, brushing for two minutes. Rinse thoroughly and then follow up with brushing with your regular toothpaste. Use two to three times a week for best results, and store the natural teeth whitening paste in an airtight container in a cool, dry space.
